(Luke 3:4-6) “A voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all mankind will see God’s salvation.”
If you are human, like myself then I am sure there have made and probably still have many crooked roads in your past and present. Take great joy in the Lord, for as He states in the verse above if you put the problems, yourself and your faith in the Lord He will make all crooked roads straight! There is not one perfect person on this earth and we have all made some huge blunders in our lifetime. (Romans 3:23-24) “For we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
On our journey here on earth we will face trials of many kinds because face it, since Adam and Eve we live in a fallen world and God gave us all free will that we may love Him freely and not forced. In that free will we, ourselves and others do not always live and act in love and compassion as God would have it. People get hurt as a result of it; but He promises you that if you place your heart and soul in His loving hands, He will straighten the path out before you. (Proverbs 3:5-6) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
As long as you abide in Him, stay in His Word, talk to Him daily and obey Him; He will guide you in all your ways by His Holy Spirit that lives within you. (John 15:5) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”
You may fall along the way but God understands, even Jesus struggled with an overwhelming heart as He prayed in the Garden the night He was betrayed. When you feel overwhelmed go to Him in prayer and He will Guide your way, give you the answers you seek and provide a way out.
(Matthew 11:28-30) “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden light.”
