“I have heard a message from the Lord; an envoy was sent to the nations to say, “Assemble yourselves to attack it! Rise up for battle!” (Jeremiah 49:14)
I. Allowing Yourself to be Victimized—Stop It!
Are you rolling over and playing dead for the enemy and falling for all of his attacks?
Are you allowing every negative thought to come into your mind and take residence?
We are to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, are you?
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (II Corinthians 10:3-5)
Are you dwelling on the voices of?
“I can’t” or “I’ll never” or “They say this” or “I’m not good enough.’
Don’t own those negative thoughts! Sometimes they are your voices, sometimes they come from Satan, but regardless, you do not have to own them! Stop it, you are more than that, you are a child of the King!
Instead, line you thoughts up with what the Bible says about you and if they are not thoughts that build you up, then toss them! Replace them with the truth!
II. What you entertain, and own, you act on.
The Bible says that “out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.”
(Luke 6:45)
You will act on what you believe to be true, so examine what is in your mind and heart, is it based on faith? Is it based on the truth of God’s word?
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.” (Proverbs 12:15)
“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.” (Proverbs 21:2)
III. What are you speaking?
“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”
(II Corinthians 13:5)
Start paying attention to what you are speaking over yourself and others. The bible says that our words are spirit and life, so whatever you speak over yourself, you will give birth to as you believe it.
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.” (Proverbs 23:7)
“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.” (John 6:63)
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)
So, are you believing all those negative thoughts? Are you speaking them and acting on them? STOP IT!
You are a child of God Almighty, El Shaddai! We serve a big God, not a small one! Start believing and acting like the child of God that you are and stop rolling over and playing spiritually dead for the enemy! You have what it takes within you, you have the Holy Spirit.
Are you relying on HIM?
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
IV. Act on WHO you are In HIM
We serve a big and awesome God who promises to never, “fail or forsake us.” So act like it and stop playing the victim, you are not you are victorious through Jesus Christ.
“Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.”
(I Chronicles 28:20)
As we rely on HIM, He will fight for us and He will give us the victory, it is promised!
“With God we will gain the victory and He will trample down our enemies.” (Psalm 60:12)
You just have to believe that and act on it, pray to Him for help, obey and surrender in humility trusting Him to back you up.
The bigger your purpose, the bigger the demons you face and the doubts and negative thoughts he bombards you with.
But God! He is bigger than Satan and bigger than the enemy within (your own flesh) and bigger than your doubts and fears.
We have been set free so do not throw away that freedom that Christ died for!
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
And rely on the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Holy Spirit to help you overcome your flesh.
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5:16-25)
Own your heritage, you are Royalty, a Prince and Princess in Christ, a child of the King.
Own it, Believe it, Live it
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (I Peter 2:9)
