Do You Worship the Worlds Idols?

(Daniel 3:14) “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up?”

Nebuchadnezzar had made an image of gold that when the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music are heard the people were to fall down and worship it. At the sound; how often do we experience the intimidation tactics by those we know who are not saved try to impose on us to get us to worship their gods. Your faith in God must be set firmly in your heart. (Hebrews 10:19-25) “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

The idols of the world are self-promotion, materialism, money, drugs, alcohol sex etc. Are you being pressured into taking part of the wild life that only spurns immoral behavior? If your faith in God is firm and secure than the intimidation tactics of the world should not have any hold over you. There is no comparison to the love God fills your heart with and nothing the world can offer that can ever compare to the peace of God. The peace we experience in being His presence brings an eternal joy that lasts and the world’s idols can in no way duplicate. (Psalm 16:11) “You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.”

The idol threats of the “world” and the opinions of us are of no value. The only opinion that ever counts is the opinion of God who sent His One and Only Son to die for us. The “world” and all who are not saved and fall into that category will never do that for you. (Jeremiah 31:3) “The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”

God loves you with an everlasting love and when the pressures of the world set in, just call on the name that is above every name, Jesus and He will protect you and He will fill your spirit with the words to say. (Matthew 10:20) “For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”

(Psalm 73:25) “Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides You.”
