“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
We have all been there before and some are probably there now. I have been there more times than I want to count; The Waiting Zone. This is going to be a simple but very beneficial devotion.
What is it? It is waiting for a prayer to be answered or to step into the destiny you know God has for you.
What do you do while waiting? It is not always being still and not doing anything, in fact, the waiting zone of God is quite active.
So what do you do while you are waiting so you do not get discouraged?
1. You stay in faith; you keep believing God. He has already proven His love by the Cross of Jesus.
“For we walk by faith and not by sight.” (II Corinthians 5:7)
2. Keep praying.
“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” (Luke 18:1)
3. Keep reading the Bible! It is your weapon; your sword!
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
“Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:13-17)
“Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)
4. Give thanks always, this shows faith, appreciation, and devotion to God.
“Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:20)
5. Keep Learning and growing.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)
“The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.” (Proverbs 18:15)
6. Keep doing good.
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:3-4)
7. Keep your confidence. Let nothing move you.
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” (Hebrews 10:35)
8. Keep your peace in all situations. God has you.
“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:14)
9. Keep your joy.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
“Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:24)
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)
The Waiting Zone Of God is not always easy or fun, but it is worth the wait! Stay in faith and keep praying and reading the Bible and your answer; your destiny will come!
God would never leave us here helpless, knowing Satan roams the earth. Through Holy Spirit, we have the strength we need to hold on and God Himself is just a prayer away.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth is transformed and the mountains are toppled into the depths of the seas, though their waters roar and foam and the mountains quake in the surge. There is a river whose streams delight the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her; she will not be moved. God will help her when morning dawns.” (Psalm 46:1-5)
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:16-18)
