(Romans 5:8) “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
God is love and everything God does is out of His everlasting love for mankind;
(I John 4:16) “God is Love.”
(I John 4: 19) “We love because He first loved us.” He loved us when He created us; to be His children.
(Jeremiah 31:3) “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
To prove His love further, when mans’ sins were so enormous that we would never be able to make atonement for them, He sent His One and Only Son to be that atonement! That is love!
(John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Furthermore, there is nothing we can do in ourselves to earn forgiveness. It is a gift. Free! This is truly amazing to me! (Ephesians 2:8-9) “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.” All we have to do to receive this gift is believe in Jesus and receive--ask Him into your heart. (John 1:12) “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” God loves us with an Agape Love; which is a love that loves first and at all times and does not depend on what we do but in spite of what we do. You cannot measure the depths of God’s love; it goes on and on and on. (Psalm 36:5) “Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.”
He is always faithful and forgiving. (Numbers 14:18) “The
Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.” He loves us, and He created us to be His children with Him in eternity. Why would anyone not want this? (Ephesians 1:4-6) “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will-- to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.” God created us in love for His glory to be His children. (Isaiah 43:7) “Everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.”
In love He sent Jesus to die for our sins that we may have eternal life and live with Him for eternity. (John 15:13) “Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends.” Out of His love for us, God saw that our sin was just too great, and man could never atone for the sins committed; so out of His love He provided that atonement Himself through Jesus Christ.
(Isaiah 59:16-17) “He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so, His own arm worked salvation for Him, and His o
wn righteousness sustained Him. He put on righteousness as His breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped Himself in zeal as in a cloak.”
What is the heart of God, we are! He created everything in love and love is who He is; He commands us to “love one another” and to “walk in love.” Everything God has done for us from creation, to filling the earth with beauty and animals, trees and mountains and seas, food for us to eat and salvation is all out of His never-ending love for us. If God is love and He created us out of His love, then we are His very heart. He created all people, which is why we are to love each other, all of His creation and to walk in love. That means out of our love for Him, love should be the motive behind every action. (II John: 5-6) “I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love.”
If we truly trust God and believe in the love behind Him sending Jesus to die for our sins, then we should not have to understand everything He does, but instead just trust in His love for us enough to just believe. “We live by faith.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” God is love and we came from Him; we are the very heart of
God and “the apple of His eye.” Every living being came from God and He loves us all. He like any parent may not like everything we do; but that does not change is heart and His love for us. We are His heart and there is nothing we can do to separate us from His love.
(Romans 8:35-39) “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered a sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
