The Princess Within: Discovering Who You Are

(Psalm 45:13) “All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold.”

This means that the gold—the deity of God Almighty if you are saved, is running all through your spirit! He is a part of you!  That makes you pretty special!

Whether you believe or not God wants to tell you that you are royalty and a princess!

Did you know that you are the apple of God’s eye?  Well, rejoice because you are!

(Deuteronomy 32:10) “In a desert land He found him, in a barren and howling waste.  He shielded him and cared for him; He guarded him as the apple of His eye.”

For years I had an identity crisis that I did not know I had.  Being married to an alcoholic, everything was about him.  When he was sober, he had a very loving heart, but the alcohol changed him.  I felt invisible and the years of constant turmoil with him, the trouble with my oldest son, and the death of my youngest, I began to feel as if I was not worthy of a happy life.  But that was a lie from the enemy!  It took years of the Lord peeling off the layers of heartache and pain and wrong beliefs before I discovered my true identity.  As a child of God, our identity is in Jesus Christ—Royalty!

(I Peter 2:10) “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people.  Once you received no mercy, now you have received God’s mercy.”  You are a son or daughter of God Most High and do not let anyone make you feel as if you are not valued!  You are an heir; rejoice!

(Romans 8:17) “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.”

  1. We are children of God—royalty and our righteousness is in Jesus and not in what we do or do not do.  Romans 5:8 says HE died for us while we were sinning!  He loved us unconditionally before we even accepted Him!

(Isaiah 62:2-4) “The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory, And you will be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord will designate.  You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem in the hand of your God.  It will no longer be said to you, "Forsaken," Nor to your land will it any longer be said, "Desolate"; But you will be called, "My delight is in her," And your land, "Married"; For the LORD delights in you, And to Him your land will be married.”

Own it!  Take ownership of who you are in Christ!  The enemy will always try to beat you down through words he speaks to your mind and through other people, but it is who Jesus Christ says you are that matters!

(Psalm 127:3) “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.”

He died for you, would those who criticize you and put you down die for you?  Then why do you care what they think?  You were a blessing from the moment God created you.  The word says to take every thought captive and that means you do not have to own every thought that comes into your mind.  Judge it, “test every spirit,” to see if it lines up with the Word of God.  If it doesn’t then trash it!  Replace that thought with the truth found in the Word.  And God chose you, handpicked by God Almighty!

(I Thessalonians 1:4) “We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be His own people.”

  1. Man’s free will may cause you pain; God promises healing!

(Psalm 147:3) “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

God gave man free will and to His sadness, some use that free will for selfish gain and to hurt those around them.  God gave us free will so that we would love Him freely with a sincere heart.  When the decision to love someone is by your own free will, you will be truly devoted to that person; that is what God wants from us.

(Hebrews 10:22) “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith.”

God loves us completely and unconditionally and He wants that same kind of love back in return.

(I John 3:1) “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”

Everyone wants to be loved; love is the reason behind the cross.

(I John 3:16) “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us.   And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.”

People may have hurt you in the past and made you feel not valued and as if you and your feelings are not important.  People do not always love as easily as God does and you have to earn their love, but not so with God.

 God loved us when He created us;

(Jeremiah 31:3) “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

He created us to be His family and when you receive Jesus, you become a child of God!

(John 1:12) “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”

It is that easy!  You don’t have to do anything to earn God’s love you just have to receive it!

(I John 4:16) “God is Love.”  (I John 4: 19) “We love because He first loved us.”

If you have been deeply hurt by others and feel as if you have to earn God’s love, then go to Him in prayer and ask Him to heal your broken heart; He will mend it and fill it completely with His love.  (Psalm 34:18) “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”   People may make you feel like nothing, but in Christ, you are royalty, a child of the King!

There is no greater act of love than to lay down your life for someone else and that is what God did for us through Jesus Christ.

(John 15:13) “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”

You are valuable to God; so much so, that He sent His only Son to die for your sin!

(John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life;” with God, unlike most people, you do not have to earn it; just receive it by faith in Jesus Christ.

When Satan tries to bombard you with thoughts that make you feel bad and unimportant and with the hateful words of others, words that demean and degrade you and make you feel small, remember what God did for you and trash those thoughts!  You are valuable to God; He died for mankind while we were sinning against Him; that should be enough proof in itself to prove His unconditional love.

(Romans 5:8) “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

There is nothing you can do or not do that will make God stop loving you; so rejoice and be glad; believe it and receive it into your heart!  You are a child of God!

(Romans 8:35-39) “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  As it is written: ‘For your sake, we face death all day long; we are considered a sheep to be slaughtered.’  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

  1. You are a treasure to God and the “apple of His eye.”  You have treasure within you, the Holy Spirit of our Lord.  (Galatians 4:6) “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father."

(Genesis 43: 22-23) “We have also brought down other money in our hand to buy food; we do not know who put our money in our sacks."  He said, "Be at ease, do not be afraid. Your God and the God of your father has given you treasure in your sacks; I had your money."

When Joseph saw his family coming for grain, they paid him for it, but he gave it back; he put it back in the packs.  You cannot buy the love of Jesus—It is free, a gift, it does not depend on us, but on who HE is and His overwhelming love for us. So we are perfect the way we are; His love is unconditional.

(Ephesians 1:3-8) “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace  that he lavished on us.”

He does not want us to be perfect to come to Him, we are flesh, and the flesh is weak, no one is perfect, “we all fall short of the glory of God.”  If it depended on us instead of His mercy and love, then no one would be able to receive. But he promises to transform us.

The closer you get to Him the more you become like Him.

(II Corinthians 3:18) “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Believe in His love for you and trust Him and walk closely beside Him.  In HIM we are all new creations and are beautiful in His sight.

(Ecclesiastes 3:11) “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

(II Corinthians 5:17) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come!”

You are royalty, chosen and handpicked by God almighty!  Do not ever let anyone tell you any difference.  Are you going to believe others or the ONE who died for you?

(I Peter 2:9) “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

REDEEMING EYES OF LOVE

I have walked the road of heartache and pain and gave my heart away somewhere along the way.

The roads I've traveled since are many, some were bitterness and anger, some were self-pity, and others unforgiveness.  In giving it away numbness filled my heart.

Yet through all the clutter and walls that I myself erected round my heart, YOU still loved and saw me with Your Redeeming Eyes of Love.

You placed an angel on my path that saw right through my self-made walls. She looked at me with Your Redeeming Eyes of Love and led me straight to YOU.

I let YOU in and gave my heart to YOU; though I thought my heart was lost, YOU had it all along.  I hold the key to let YOU in and YOU hold the key to make it new again.

My story is not over; a new path I needed to begin with roads paved with love and restoration created for me before time began.

Each road is hard and involves a process of tearing down my self-made walls. With each step I take and each road I walk a wall comes tumbling down.

Now, instead of walls around my heart, the tree of life grows there.  My heart was never lost to YOU and the love in YOUR Redeeming Eyes has replaced the heartache and pain with joy and fullness of life!

YOU ARE A PRINCESS IN CHRIST!

God is no respecter of persons and if he could heal my heart of all the pain I have had and deliver me from all the turmoil in my life and restore all that was broken and lost HE will do it for you.

Knowing who you are, and whose you are is the first step.  Believing in him, and confidence in your relationship with him will give you the courage to follow wherever he leads.  You will be able to hear his direction and understand his guidance to be delivered into the liberty and abundant life he died to give you!

(Galatians 5:1) “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
