(II Corinthians 5:20) “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
Do you represent Jesus Christ in a way pleasing to God? Is your mouth and actions pleasing to Him? (Proverbs 16:24) “Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Do you place yourself in His seat by judging others? (Matthew 7:1-2) “Do not judge; or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Do you show love to others in the way you want to be loved in return? (John 13:34) “A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” Do you show mercy, doing unto others as you want done to you? (Matthew 7:12) “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (James 2:12-13) “Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!”
Are you selfless, considerate & self-sacrificing, placing others before yourself? (Philippians 2:3-4) “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Do you have a mouth like a sewer, spreading gossip and slander? (Proverbs 16:28) “A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.” Or do you build others up? (Ephesians 4:29) “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
We must pay attention to how we act and what we say. The world around listens and sees our actions; will they want what you have? Or will they see any difference at all? Do you speak negatively then wonder why your prayers are not being answered? Listen to yourself; are you counteracting your prayers by what you say? (Proverbs 18:21) “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Are your words pleasing to the Lord? (Psalm 19:14) “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
We are ambassadors of Christ. Ask yourself this question: Do I bring glory to God in Christ Jesus? Or do I drive people away? Our actions and our attitude if He truly lives within us should be that of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 2: 5-8) “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who being in very nature God; did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross!”
He came dressed as a servant. (II Corinthians 8:9) “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.”
The love of Jesus does not exalt self; it exalts others. Jesus humbled Himself and suffered the cross for us; therefore God raised Him up!
(Philippians 2:9) “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name.”
