WHERE HAS ALL THE WORSHIP GONE?

(John 4:24) “God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

Do you worship God in your everyday life? Is your life a testimony of the love and grace of God? Do you wake up each morning and greet the day with Him or has your time with Him dwindled down to Sunday Mornings? (Psalm 5:3) “In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation.”

Our heavenly Father has done so much for us; He created the heavens and the earth and all that is within it and He created us. (Psalm 24:1) “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.” He provided atonement for all of mankind when He saw that the sins of the world were just too great, too great for us to pay; He could not bear to have us pay; He loved us too much; so He took it upon Himself. Jesus came into the world to reconcile us to God. (Colossians 1:22) “But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation.”

He came that we might have life and have it to the full, to set us free from the bondage sin and have life everlasting. (John 10:10) “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” God knew that with our sinful nature we would never be able to pay for our sins. So, He did it for us. (Isaiah 59:16) “He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so His own arm worked salvation for Him, and his own righteousness sustained Him.”

He did not leave it at that; He provides all of our needs as well. (Acts 14:17) “He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with plenty of food and fills your heart with joy.”

Our heavenly Father is always watching over us as well and He protects us from harm as we trust in Him. (Psalm 121:7) “The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

Moses trusted and obeyed God; He believed and worshipped Him and God treated him as a friend. (Exodus 33:11) “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend.” God confided in Him as friends confide in each other; the closer you draw to God the closer He draws to you and will confide in you the same way. (Isaiah 50:4) “The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.”

Read the words of this poem and then examine yourself; how is your worship?

WHERE HAS ALL THE WORSHIP GONE?

Where is the worship? Where has is gone?

The world promotes drinking and drugs and the latest Harry Potter Book in the now. It promotes witchcraft in which You are against. You parted the Red Sea and healed the blind and the sick. Where is Your praise? Where has it gone?

People talk about who did what to whom and that seems to be ok, but talk about my Savior, the One who died for me, and something’s wrong with me. I’m just another fanatic. Why is that so? Where is Your worship?

A crown of thorns dug into Your head and nails pierced Your feet. You took our pain and our punishment. You died for us. Where has Your worship gone?

People sit around on Sunday’s and watch the latest football game, but go to the house of God; they don’t have time for that. You gave Your life, but that is not important enough.

Where has all Your worship gone?

Blood ran down Your face, nails pierced your feet.

You died for us. Where has all Your worship gone?

The world does us wrong in some way every day. Do we leave it? Someone in church, human that they are, does us wrong and we leave it. The house of God! Your house where we go to worship You and not the people who go there! Where has Your worship gone?

You carried the cross and was beaten and whipped beyond

human recognition. Where has Your worship gone?

There’s violence, killing and stealing overflowing in the world and watching desperate housewives seems to be the latest craze. Where is Your worship?

You shed tears for us. You sweat drops of blood before hanging on the cross. You were beaten, laughed at and spit on. A whip marred Your back. Your body was covered in blood. You hung on the cross. You took our pain. You died for us. Where is the gratitude for what You did? Where has all the worship gone? Where is the

glory, honor and praise due Your holy name?

Is your worship sincere? Do you love the Lord your God with all your heart and live it daily? Look back at all He has done for you and for mankind; and for being God alone isn’t He worth our best worship? He is worth it for being God alone and even more for all that He is to us! He is love, He is our salvation and He is our life! Re-examine the way you worship God. Does it put a smile on His face?

(Hebrews 10:22) “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.”
